Awesome Prize From Virgin Red – Trip to Intimate Ed Sheeran Gig in Washington DC!

The rewards app Virgin Red is currently running one of its regular ‘reverse auctions’ – but this time the prize is pretty incredible: A trip to Washington DC to see Ed Sheeran perform live at an intimate secret gig! I have it on good authority that by ‘intimate’ Virgin Red means 100 people max (it’s literally in someone’s living room!), so it should be very special.

The prize also includes return flights with Virgin Atlantic, accommodation at the (excellent) Kimpton Glover Park Hotel and US transfers too. The prize is for two people so you can take your partner, friend, Ed Sheeran loving Gran, or whoever you want with you.

Sounds great – how do I enter?

First of all, if you haven’t already done so, you need to download the Virgin Red app here.

Next, between now and Wednesday 6th September, you need to make a bid in the ‘reverse auction’. The entry fee into the ‘reverse auction’ is £3 and you can bid more than once, but you’ll have to pay the entry fee each time you bid.

If you’re not sure what a ‘reverse auction’ is you can find the full details on how they work here, but it’s fairly simple really: Unlike a traditional auction, the winner of a ‘reverse auction’ is the person who makes the lowest unique bid. Bear in mind that you will be asked to pay the amount you bid if you win, so only bid what you can afford!

Also, note carefully that you need to be available to travel to Washington DC between 19th-22nd September 2017

What’s this gig all about?

It’s not just an excuse for a cool prize – all the money raised is going to Amnesty International. The show is part of Sofar Sounds and Amnesty International’s ‘Give a Home’ global festival, which aims to raise awareness about the 22 million refugees around the world who have been forced to flee their homes.

On 20th September a thousand musicians will perform in 24 hours inside 300 homes across 60 countries. The ‘Give a Home’ event will make history as it’s set to become the largest ever global festival.

Anything else?

If Ed Sheeran just doesn’t do it for you (or you can’t get the time off work to jet across to the US), I have good news. This Thursday there will be another exclusive reverse auction, offering the opportunity to see Emeli Sandé performing live in Sam Branson’s London home.

Bottom line

Do we have any massive Ed Sheeran fans amongst the InsideFlyer readership? – Good luck!
