Missing IHG points from the January-April Accelerate promotion? Claim now!

Back in January, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group, the brand behind Crowne Plaza / Hotel Indigo / Holiday Inn etc) ran one of their now-common “Accelerate” promotions. This offered personalised targets, with potentially large numbers of bonus points, for stays from January through until the 15th of April.

We’re now 6 weeks from the end of that promotion. Under IHG‘s somewhat annoying rules, you have to wait for 6 weeks after the end until they’ll entertain claims for missing points from it caused by their own shonky IT systems. That day has passed, so check and claim!

To see what your offers were, and which ones IHG’s dodgy IT systems felt you had achieved, you need to head to www.ihg.com/content/gb/en/offers/q1accelerate2017/registration and login. You need to do that soon, before they take down the old site! On logging in, you should see something like this:

and then details for all your offers, such as like this:

In my case, I had done 3 qualifying stays booked with the app during the promotion period. However, one (the first!) hadn’t properly tracked for the App part, even though it had for the others. I contacted IHG customer services about this (never a fun, and rarely an effective process), an much as expected they fobbed me off claiming that the points would be a long a bit later. After chasing up, they then pulled out the T&C, then told me to get lost until 6 weeks had passed since the end of the offer.

Unsurprisingly, nothing changed in the mean time, and today is 6 weeks from the end. My stay hadn’t been updated, the points hadn’t been given, and the bonus for completing enough targets hadn’t either. So, another email off to their customer “services” team at ihgrewardsclub@ihg.com, hopefully they’ll now sort it!

So, if you took part in the Q1 IHG Accelerate promotion, check your accounts and promotion dashboard today! And if, like me, you’re missing points, drop an email to ihgrewardsclub@ihg.com to get the missing points granted, as we’re now more than the magic 6 weeks since the promotion ended.

    Thanks for the reminder, I’ve taken a look and stangely they did credit 4k points for a weekend stay, but somehow that didn’t qualify for “Book and stay Once Get 5,000″…

      You’ve got to love IHG’s IT systems! Just drop them a note, they ought to fix it within 1-2 days. (Took just over a day for them to finally credit my missing points!)

      Haha, yes IHG’s IT is truly a thing of beauty. It can work in your favour occasionally too though – I once ended up with an extra free night certificate for no good reason.
