After a bit of an absence, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) which is the company behind hotel brands such as Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo is back on the main UK cashback websites. What’s more, for at least the next week at least, it’s back at a pretty decent 8% across all their brands!
Through TopCashBack, you can earn 8% on almost all IHG hotels:
With Quidco it’s much the same – 8% almost everywhere:
If you were going to book at a Premier Inn or Travelodge for £50/night, swapping to an IHG hotel for a lot more just for the cashback may not be a great deal. However, if you were thinking of booking a Holiday Inn / Crowne Plaza / etc hotel, result! Free money!
A key thing to note about booking with IHG through a cashback portal is that it still counts as a “Qualifying Stay”. That means that you’ll get both the cashback, and credit for the stay to your IHG Rewards Club account. Right now, IHG have a great promotion that can be very lucrative for new IHG members, their Q2 2017 Accelerate promotion. This could potentially get you a free stay somewhere great after only a couple of cheap stays, and what’s more you can now get cashback on them too! More details here in our post on the promotion.

This isn’t a bad deal at all and I noticed it the other day while doing some bookings. I’m with Quidco and for some reason, although all of the IHG brands are ‘favourited’ and set up for alerts, I got nothing through, so it was more luck than judgement. Additionally, there was a flash increase to 10% for I think a day (I saw it late) so I managed to do some bookings at that rate and some at 8%.
