Until the 24th April 2017, you can get a 50% bonus when transferring Heathrow Rewards Points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

The standard conversion rate is 250 Heathrow Reward Points = 250 Virgin Flying Club Miles, so with the bonus you’d get 375 Virgin Miles instead.

There doesn’t seem to be any information about the offer on the Heathrow Rewards website, but the terms in the email are quite clear and there is nothing to suggest it is a targeted offer.

This offer is only valid for points conversations during the promotion period 24 March 2017 – 24 April 2017. You can convert Heathrow Rewards points for a minimum of 250 Flying Club Miles as part of the standard customer proposition. The 50% additional bonus Flying Club Miles offer is only valid for Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Heathrow Rewards members. The offer is only available online and conversions must take place online in order to receive the 50% bonus Flying Club Miles. Good deal?

Yeah, not bad.

Heathrow Rewards regularly offers similar transfer bonuses to Avios and its other airline partners too though, so I’d only transfer if you think you’ll be using the Miles in the next 6 months or so.

It’s also worth remembering that Heathrow Rewards Points are worth 1 pence in “hard cash” at Heathrow (2 pence for Heathrow parking), so you are effectively buying Virgin Miles at 0.67 pence each. That’s a pretty good deal, but not amazing.

Anything else?

Heathrow Rewards offers generous signup bonuses and you can currently bag yourself up to 3,100 bonus Points for spending £150 at Heathrow Airport. That would convert to 4,650 Virgin Miles with the 50% bonus, which is a very healthy rebate!
