Airberlin’s loyalty scheme, Topbonus, is currently offering a nice little benefit to new registrants: sign up before 31 March 2017, and you will get a free airport lounge access voucher. The voucher is valid for use until 30 June 2017.

Which lounges?

The free lounge access is limited to a select number of lounges at airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as follows:

• Berlin Tegel: Weltbürger Lounge (Terminal C)
• Düsseldorf: Hugo Junkers Lounge (Terminal B), airberlin Lounge (Terminal C)
• Frankfurt: Air France Lounge (Terminal 2)
• Hannover: Hannover Club (Terminal C)
• Hamburg: Airport Lounge (Airport Plaza, Level 3)
• Munich: Atlantic Lounge (Terminal 1)
• Saarbrücken: SCN Business Lounge
• Stuttgart: Executive Club Lounge (Terminal 1)
• Sylt: Sylt Lounge
• Vienna: Jet Lounge (Terminal 1); AIR Lounge (Terminal 1)
• Zürich: Aspire Lounge (between Terminal A&B)

Note that you will need to be flying Airberlin when you access the lounge (per the terms and conditions, you need to produce an Airberlin boarding pass). As such, you can’t simply use this on any flights passing through the airports listed. 

There are some genuinely good lounges in the list above (was recently at the Air France lounge in Frankfurt, and it’s a very solid offering), so if you can make this work for you, you should so so.

How do you get the free airport lounge access voucher?

Registering for Topbonus via this promotional link will result in automatic entitlement to the lounge voucher.

The lounge voucher will be posted to the address you specify when you sign up to Topbonus, and you should receive it within 2 weeks of registration.

This may be a somewhat limited offer, but if you have plans to fly Airberlin and have not yet joined Topbonus (or you choose to “rejoin” Topbonus…), this is a great opportunity to bolt a free lounge visit onto a flight. Bear in mind Airberlin can be a great way to redeem your Avios.
