KLM and the opinion-dividing Flying Blue loyalty scheme are not featured too regularly on InsideFlyer, but occasionally they offer some pretty competitive deals.
The current 4 day sale (book by 17 October) is certainly worth looking at. In addition to a range of discounted long-haul Economy Class flights starting at £289 return (Dubai), there are some tempting offers on Business Class flights from London Heathrow including Cairo at £936 return, Dubai at £1257 and Mumbai at £1596.
What’s availability like?
At the time of writing, availability is excellent at these prices. While they’re not anywhere near as spectacular as some of the ludicrously low return fares offered by the likes of Qatar in Business Class, these flights have the obvious advantage of starting and finishing in the UK, so there’s no need for the cost and inconvenience of a repositioning flight (not that this should put you off, if there’s serious savings to be made).
Here’s a dummy booking for Cairo:
Dubai:
And Mumbai:
As you can see, you’ll also earn a healthy chunk of Flying Blue miles on these tickets.
Anywhere else?
Other Business Class options include:
- Seoul at £1,739 return
- Shanghai £1,819 return
- Osaka at £2,009 return
- Tokyo at £2,019 return
The Japan and Shanghai prices are far from spectacular, but if you want a good value ex-UK Business Class flight, you could do a lot worse than the Cairo, Dubai, Mumbai or Seoul options.
