To benefit, you simply need to join Emirates Skywards and then take your first flight within 6 months of signing up. If you do so, you’ll earn the following bonus miles in addition to the miles that you receive for the flight:

• 2,500 Miles for Economy Class
• 3,500 Miles for Business Class
• 5,000 Miles for First Class

The only other key term is that you do need to travel on a flight that is marketed and operated by Emirates (i.e. with an EK flight number and an Emirates aircraft – “code share” flights will not count).

While I’d argue that the Emirates in-flight product isn’t quite up to its Middle Eastern rival Etihad, Emirates nevertheless forms part of the renowned “Middle East Three” alongside Etihad and Qatar, and there’s little doubt that the flight experience is substantially superior to many of the Western flag-carriers.
