British Airways is currently offering an excellent price to Bangkok in Business Class, for flights departing from Amsterdam.

Return flights are currently available at just €1,416 (£1,100). While this rate is nominally available until March 2017, the number of seats per flight at this substantially reduced price is limited. So, if this appeals, we suggest you book without too much delay.

If the Amsterdam departure puts you off, read on – we may just convince you otherwise.

An example booking at the reduced rate is as follows:

In terms of calculating the overall value of this flight, it’s worth noting that you will also earn 20,258 Avios. At a fairly conservative estimate, that has a value in the region of £150.

You should note that these heavily discounted tickets are, unsurprisingly, inflexible so if you do need to change, you should expect to pay as much as €350 per segment. That said, if you can absolutely lock in a trip to Thailand at these prices, you will struggle to get much better value than this.

But I don’t live in Amsterdam!

Always a fair comment. We are, of course, a UK-focused website.

However…

At these prices, you will still be saving a lot by taking a positioning flight to Amsterdam and flying on from there. easyJet, Vueling etc can be used to very good effect here (returns are currently available at £47).

If you’re still not interested, it is nevertheless worth mentioning that ex-London Bangkok Business Class flights are currently discounted, albeit less impressively: you can currently fly from Heathrow for just over £1700:

Obviously if paying the extra £600 to avoid the repositioning flight is worthwhile to you, then this is the better value option – however, go via Amsterdam and not only do you have £550 or so extra spending money, you could even build in a day or two in a fantastic European city: 2 holidays in one.
