After a few years of absence, Virgin Atlantic is returning with its own lounge at the airport of the City of Angels. Early next year, a new Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will open in the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The new Clubhouse promises to deliver a “premium and personalized” experience.
New Virgin Clubhouse Lounge in Los Angeles
Transatlantic routes are extremely important for Virgin Atlantic, so it makes sense that the airline is investing in the United States. Most of Virgin’s Business Class lounges, also known as Clubhouses, are located in the U.S.
The SkyTeam airline did used to have its own lounge at LAX, but it was closed. That’s about to change. Starting from the first quarter of 2025, Virgin passengers will once again have access to a Clubhouse in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
This will be an exceptional lounge, full of everything you may need, and conveniently located near the boarding gates. There will be an extensive bar offering signature cocktails, including the famous Virgin Redhead. The lounge will also feature a restaurant where passengers can enjoy à la carte dining. For VIP guests, there will be a special section called The Royal Box, though Virgin is keeping the details under wraps for now.
With ambient lighting designed to mimic the Californian sunset and artwork from local artists, the lounge’s interior promises to be visually stunning. If you’re not in the mood to eat or admire the art, you’ll also have the option to work in peace or take a nap.
Access Requirements for the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in Los Angeles
Naturally, not everyone can enter the new Clubhouse. Virgin has specific entry policies. So, who has access?
- Virgin Upper Class (Business Class) passengers can access the lounge for free, as well as bring a guest.
- Delta One passengers with an international flight can also access the lounge.
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold Card holders (and higher) and SkyTeam Elite Plus members can enjoy free entry with a guest, provided they are flying with Virgin or Delta.
It’s unclear whether it will be possible to purchase access to the lounge or enter through memberships like Priority Pass, which was allowed in the past.
Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Lounges Worldwide
Virgin Atlantic has opened several Clubhouse lounges across the globe. You can find them in New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington DC (IAD). Outside the U.S., there are Clubhouses in Johannesburg (JNB) and, of course, at London Heathrow (LHR).
In other locations, Virgin has partnered up with other airport lounges. For example, passengers at Las Vegas (LAS) can use The Club at LAS in Terminal 3, and at Shanghai, they can access the China Eastern No. 36 lounge. In Dubai, eligible passengers are welcome at the SkyTeam Lounge.
At the moment, Business Class passengers and select frequent flyers in Los Angeles can still use the Star Alliance Lounge. However, from early next year, they will have access to Virgin Atlantic’s very own Clubhouse.
