I’ve written before about why it can make sense to sign up with cashback sites from outside the UK, as well as British ones. Basically, sometimes the cashback rates are higher and you can usually cash out easily enough via Paypal.
At the time of publication (18:30 on 22nd March 2023) there is an excellent example of this that you might want to take advantage of: The USA version of TopCashback has temporarily boosted the cashback rate on IHG hotel bookings to 12% (it ends early tomorrow morning, UK time).
That’s compared to just 3% on the UK version of the site right now:
If you’re considering staying any time soon at IHG brands like Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Kimpton, etc, it makes sense to click through from TopCashback USA and book now. 12% back is about as good as cashback rates get with IHG.
It’s absolutely fine to have both a UK and a USA TopCashback account. Signing up to the USA version is easy – just make sure you click on “United States” if the following image pops up when you try to sign up:
In fact, you’ll even get a $10 sign up bonus (payable after you have earned $10 in standard cashback) if you use a referral link like this one. Accessing your money is simple too, because you can just transfer it straight to PayPal!
Bottom line
Even if you don’t need to book a hotel at the moment, it pays to keep an eye on the rates offered by a wide range of cashback sites. Sometimes UK rates are higher, sometimes it’s the other way round, so to maximise your savings you need to be a member of both.
