BA recently announced a new partnership with Uber that has now gone ‘live’. Uber users in the UK can collect Avios for any trip by car, coach or train that’s booked via the Uber app, simply by linking their BA Executive Club and Uber accounts.
Members of the airline’s loyalty programme will be eligible to collect 1 Avios for every £1 spent. If you link your accounts before 31st December 2022 you will also receive a welcome bonus of 250 Avios points.
To register, make sure you’ve got the most recent Uber app update, then head to settings and you should be able to see this:
Click through to add your details and once your accounts are linked, Avios will then automatically appear in your account after every Uber ride.
I should mention that while I had no problems linking my accounts, the app didn’t present the option to link on my husband’s phone. Both phones are Android and both have the latest Uber update, so I’m not sure what the issue there is. Perhaps it is just taking a little while to roll it out fully.

Bottom line
1 Avios per £1 isn’t worth getting too excited about (unless you run up some serious Uber bills!), but it’s certainly better than nothing and the 250 sign up bonus makes linking your accounts worthwhile.
It will be interesting to see if there are more promotions and bonuses from BA and Uber in the weeks and months ahead…
