Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is running a great rebate deal on reward flights. Book your reward flights before 7 November, 2022 and you will receive a 50% rebate of your Virgin points after you have travelled. There is no discount on taxes and surcharges, which admittedly are substantial.
The offer covers most, but not all, Virgin Atlantic routes. Specifically, you can travel FROM the UK to the US and Caribbean. All travel classes are included in this promotion.
Terms & Conditions
- You must book by 7 November, 2022
- You must complete your travel before 25 March, 2023
- You must fly to the United States or the Caribbean
- You must fly on Virgin Atlantic – you cannot redeem with partners
- You can book any cabin – Economy, Premium Economy, Upper Class
- The offer only applies to full reward bookings
- You CAN receive the rebate on:
- upgrades using points
- upgrades from credit card certificates
- companion rewards
However, the MOST CRUCIAL condition is that you MUST be a member of Virgin Red and have linked your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account to your Virgin Red account – before booking your reward flights!
Assuming that you meet all of those conditions, the Flying Club member will receive 50% of the points spent back into their account within 28 days of the last flight.

Bottom Line
With Virgin Atlantic reward flights, the number of points charged is only a small part of the equation. More important is the massive taxes and surcharges that must also be paid. There is no discount here!
The rebate structure also means that you must have a large number of points up front in order to participate, and will still have a large balance once your rebate hits your account. So, it’s probably not the kind of promotion where you will want to convert a large number of credit card points and/or buy tens of thousands of points. (because you will be left with a ton of Virgin points afterwards…)
In any event, it’s always better to spend fewer points than more, so if you have Virgin points looking for a good use, now might be the time to put them to use…
