Leaders Club, the loyalty scheme of the “Leading Hotels of the World” (LHW), has just delivered some “exciting news”. “Exciting news” typically means something bad in the loyalty world but this is sort of an exception. In Leaders Club’s own words, “starting today, we are saying hello to more travel, and goodbye to Leaders Club fees. That means you can continue to take advantage of the membership benefits you love, without the $175 annual cost“.
That’s great in a sense, but it does beg the question why they spent the last few months making a fuss over a free membership promotion that “saved” you the $175 joining fee. I’d also be fairly livid if I’d paid the $175 membership fee at any point recently.
Anyway, let’s focus on the positive. Now anyone, at any time, can access the “over $500 in benefits” (their claim not mine) that Leaders Club gives you. This includes one pre-arrival upgrade awarded annually, complimentary daily breakfast for two and access to members-only savings, so it’s definitely worth joining if there’s any chance of you staying at a LHW.
