In the latest instalment of our monthly rundown of hotel chain promotions, these are the main chain-wide promos available in May 2021.

World of Hyatt

 

Hyatt’s promotion will run until June 15, 2021. Registration is required before May 15th (click here).

Members can earn:

• 2,000 bonus points every second night (nights do NOT need to be consecutive)
• After ten nights, a free night certificate valid for 180 days at any Category 1-4 hotel (Cat. 4 = 15,000 points)

Worth It?

The effective 1,000 bonus points per night works out to a rebate of ~£11+ ($15+). This is great for cheap stays (and even better for award stays, since they attract the bonus as well), but clearly not fantastic for expensive stays.

In normal times, the free night certificate would be quite valuable, but ongoing travel restrictions make it harder to extract maximum value.

Hilton Honors

You have one day left to take advantage of Hilton’s 2,000 point per stay promotion. For the rest of the month (May 3rd until September 6th) – click here to register – you can earn:

• Double points for stays of one or two nights
• Triple points for stays of three nights or longer

Worth It?

If you have long, expensive stays planned for the summer, then the triple points element will be quite lucrative. Fortunately, you will still receive double points on those one-night stays you might be using to chase elite status via “stays”.

Marriott Bonvoy

Marriott has not announced a chain-wide promotion that will be running in May 2021.

IHG Rewards

IHG is offering up to triple points on stays until 16th August 2021. The way the promotion is structured, you will earn no bonus points on your first stay, double points on your second stay, and triple points on your third and subsequent stays.

Radisson Rewards

Radisson Rewards is in the process of splitting into two different programmes – one for the Americas, and one for the rest of the world. No promotions have been announced yet for May 2021.

Bottom line

If you are promo conscious and have multiple elite statuses, then your May 2021 hotel stays should be with Hilton or Hyatt… unless the other programmes announce promotions soon!
