IHG’s Kimpton brand is running a nice little promotion to encourage people to reconnect: ‘Postcard Perks’ 

“Ok, we’ll say it: it’s been a tough year of staying inside. But things are brightening up, and it’s time to make plans with friends and loved ones you haven’t seen in way too long. You know us, we like to do our bit, so we’ve prepared complimentary postcards with special powers to help you do just that.”

How it works

1. Pick up a complimentary Stay Human postcard from any of our Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in the U.K (Or, just download one here)
2. Write your note to that special someone you haven’t see in a while. Perhaps make plans to meet-up in the near future? Fill out their address, pop on a stamp and mail it to them
3. Your friend can walk into any of our Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in the U.K. with their postcard and we’ll surprise them with a special perk. Maybe it’s a free cup of coffee, maybe a draw to win a free stay or maybe they’ll receive a cheeky room upgrade… There’s much to discover! P.S. Did we mention you can bring your pets too?
4. It’s one Postcard Perk per customer (except pets, who might get two treats…) and hotels and restaurants may change the perks over time. Postcard Perks are only available at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in the U.K. until 31 October 2021.

Bottom line

I’m pretty cynical, but this promotion is thoughtful and genuinely made me smile. I’ll be sending out some postcards this afternoon.
