On the same day that your bonus elite nights from Marriott Bonvoy have posted – 13 for Gold, 25 for Platinum, 38 for Titanium being the most likely bonuses for InsideFlyer UK readers – registration has now opened for Marriott’s upcoming chain-wide promotion. The promotion will run from 16 February until 27 April, 2021 (although you must register before 13 April).

The promotion is pretty simple. Members can earn:

• Double base points (i.e. an additional 10 points per US dollar spent pre-tax)
• Double elite night credit

There are two provisos to keep well in mind:

1. Stays must be 2+ nights in length
2. Only PAID stays will qualify

Registration is required, which you can do by logging into your Marriott Bonvoy account and visiting the Promotions page (or hopefully just click here).

Now Is The Time To Renew Or Upgrade Your Marriott Status If You Can…

If you are a Platinum member like me, you have just been gifted 25 nights. If you hold the Marriott Bonvoy American Express card, you should have received an additional 15 nights.  Those two items will add up to 40 nights.

As a reminder, the two levels of attractive elite status with Marriott Bonvoy are:

• Platinum – requiring 50 nights (click here for details of the benefits of Platinum)
• Titanium – requiring 75 nights (click here for details of the differences between Platinum and Titanium)

If you can manage to stay 5 paid nights before the end of April, you would receive 10 elite nights. Add those to the 40 you might already have, and you’ll have locked in your Platinum re-qualification. I have every intention of locking in my Platinum renewal before the end of April, leaving me free to explore other travel hacking opportunities as travel slowly resumes…

Even if you don’t have the gifted nights or the credit card, a double point / double elite credit promotion is an excellent way to get yourself closer to Platinum status which, although frustrating at times, is one of the more rewarding elite statuses available…
