As the year comes to a close, I thought it would be interesting for readers to share their favourite travel memories of 2019.
Whether it was plotting a genius points/miles redemption; finally visiting your dream destination; meeting old friends (or making new ones) in exotic places; or simply a quiet moment taking in a beautiful view – let us know in the comments what your travel highlights were this year!
Thanks largely to points and miles, I have been lucky enough to experience some remarkable trips again this year – often enjoying a level of luxury when flying that I would scarcely have believed possible 10 years ago. As much as I enjoy the luxury side of things though (and I’m not going to pretend for a second that I don’t!), most of my travels ultimately revolve around friends and family.
In fact, I think my favourite trip was probably taking my nephew to New York for the first time (at Halloween!). Flights were Norwegian Economy and the hotel was a Moxy – and both were actually great, but that’s not the point.
The giddy excitement of a kid running around Times Square with a pumpkin mask on, waiting to see Harry Potter on Broadway – that’s the point.
Happy New Year everyone – and cheers!!!

Had broken toilets on WAW-LHR with BA, no water in a sink, crew sold a bottle of water to me with a 50% discount so I could wash my hands.

37,500 Avios for Doha to Zurich thanks to the shorter distance band (and it was prior to the recent partner devaluation)

With LATAM leaving Oneworld, that one is going to be even trickier for me to get around to doing… Definitely on my bucket list though.
