This weekend, British Airways opened its newly refurbished lounge in Geneva. The lounge has undergone a significant upgrade and follows the new design concept the airline launched in 2018.

In recent years, British Airways has invested significantly in improving its product. The company continues to focus on fleet renewal, new interiors on board and, not least, its lounges. In the past year, British Airways has opened new lounges in Johannesburg, New York, San Francisco – and now Geneva!

The area offers a varied selection of chairs and seating areas suitable for both work and relaxation.

The new lounge is designed to give guests a warm welcome and a place to relax or work before travelling. The area has been expanded to 327 square meters, with different areas to meet different needs, including a variety of seating areas suitable for both work and relaxation. If you need to recharge your laptop, phone or tablet before the flight, there are also plenty of electrical outlets throughout the room.

“We know that our lounges are a great benefit to our customers and we are very pleased to present the next step in our extensive investment in customer experience, with our new Geneva lounge,” says Carolina Martinoli, Head of Brand and Customer Experience at British Airways.

Lobby bar, enhanced food service and BrewDog beer

In the middle of the room is a new lobby bar with a selection of drinks; prosecco is available throughout the lounge; and there is even a brand-new craft beer room, designed to allow guests to discover new tipples and to make the most of the draft beer taps featuring BrewDog Punk IPA and Indie Pale Ale.

The food service has also been refreshed and the menu includes grilled paninis, cheeses, fresh fruit, soup and hot main courses. A selection of sweets, cakes and biscuits are available throughout the day if you want something with your coffee.

“Every detail has been carefully considered and we have created a lounge to meet customer needs”, says Marinoli. “Whether they want to relax with a hot meal or enjoy a drink in the lobby bar, the new lounge will enhance the experience before the flight”.

Bottom line

“Every detail” might be taking things a bit far, but the new lounge certainly looks good. Have you had chance to try it out yet? – let us know what you think in the comments!
