Marriott’s latest chain-wide promotion is called “Double Take” and should be open for registration today.
The promotion is straightforward, if rather underwhelming. Starting with your second stay, members will earn double base points. Double Take will run from 19 March until 5 June, 2019.
You can register for the promotion by clicking here. Alternatively you can log-in to your Marriott account and visit the “Promotion Central” section.
For the majority of Marriott’s brands, you will earn 10 points per US dollar spent, meaning that this promotion will earn you an extra 10 points per dollar. I reckon that could be an additional 7-8% of rebate – additional to the standard earning rate, any elite status bonus, plus 5-10% of cashback…
As always, you should register straight away, even if you have no Marriott stays planned. You never know when a trip might come up on short notice and you forget to register…
Does this include stays already booked?
And if so does the first stay count if it’s booked with points?! I have a redemption in Singapore and later a cash stay in Langkawi and would love to get double points on that.
Only paid stays count. So you’ll need to switch that Singapore stay to cash, or find another one-nighter to squeeze in somewhere. I suspect the 10 bonus points per USD for an expensive stay could even make a mattress run potentially worthwhile.
Already-booked stays will count.
