Until 24th February 2019, you can get a 50% bonus when purchasing BA Avios through British Airways Executive Club. The standard 100,000 annual limit has also been temporarily lifted to 200,000 (not including the 50% bonus).

Good deal?

At the top end you can buy 300,000 Avios for £3,215, which works out at ~1.071p per Avios, or £10.71 per 1,000.

For buying BA Avios quickly and easily in large quantities, that’s not actually a terrible price. It’s not cheap enough to tempt me personally, but most cheaper methods (Groupon, Vent Privee, etc) have low purchase limits, and/or involve jumping through various hoops.

I wouldn’t recommend a speculative purchase, but if you have a high-value redemption in mind and have already checked that award space exists for the dates you want to travel on, this could be a good deal.

• This offer is only open to Members of the British Airways Executive Club (Eligible Participants).
• The offer is available from 00:01 (GMT) Monday 11 February to 23:59 (GMT) Sunday 24 February 2019 only (the ‘Offer Period’).
• During the Offer Period, Eligible Participants will receive 50% extra Avios (bonus Avios) when they purchase or gift Avios at ba.com.

• Eligible Participants may Gift Avios (purchase for someone else) during the promotional period, provided that the recipient holds a British Airways Executive Club account with at least one Avios point in their account.
