Just a quick heads-up that there’s a bit of a fare war going on at the moment between different airlines competing on the London to New York route. United and Virgin Atlantic seem to be offering the cheapest prices, but BA/AA/ etc aren’t much more expensive either.
The cheapest fares I saw (I didn’t have time to delve too deeply, so there might be even better ones!) were on United, starting at just £263:
Virgin Atlantic was pricing up at £287 and BA/AA looked to be a little over £300.
Availability appears to be superb most of the time, all the way through into Spring 2019. Here’s the Google Flights month view for September and October 2018:
To get the very cheapest fares, once you’ve got an idea of dates, check out SkyScanner, Momondo, Kayak, etc.
Bottom line
For direct flights from London on major carriers, these really are superb fares!
Anyone tempted by a long weekend in NYC?
