If you are after some cheap Business Class flights to Asia or Australia and don’t mind starting your trip on the continent, you might wish to take a look at the current Air China sale. Although Air China might not offer the top-notch Business Class experience you are used to from the likes of Qatar, you’ll still be bagging yourself a bargain with these fares:
In sterling, the headline prices for the return trip are (Economy/ Business):
- China £415 / £1569
- Asia (including the usually very expensive Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul…) £310 / £1070
- Australia £694 / £1508
You need to book by 1 May through the dedicated promo page here using promo code DEWK04 for the sale fares to show.
Here’s a dummy booking from Dusseldorf to Tokyo via Beijing for £1128, just over the advertised headline price:
Here’s another example for Munich to Seoul via Beijing for £1133, again just over the advertised headline price:
Interestingly, these sale fares appear to be the ‘business flex’ option, which would make them refundable for a £130 fee. And they should book into fare bucket Z, meaning you’d earn up to 150% of flown miles with a number of frequent flyer schemes, such as Miles & More. Check here for further details.
Bottom line
If you are looking for a decent fare to Asia and don’t mind starting your trip on the continent, there are some decent fares up for grabs here. Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Australia are usually very expensive destinations, so a Business Class ticket at the prices advertised is a real steal. If your layover is less than 72 hours in Beijing, you should be eligible for visa-free transit.

Oh my gosh ! Once you’ve been on a few long-haul flights packed full of Chinese people you really don’t want to do it again 🙁

I have so many bad experiences with Air China that I will never fly with them again.
