Swissôtel Circle, the loyalty scheme for Swissôtels & Resorts, will be merged into Le Club Accorhotels on 2nd July 2018.
(Remember that Accorhotels– the group behind Sofitel, Pullman, Mercure, Novotel, etc – acquired Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, the company behind luxury hotel brands Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel. You can read more about the acquisition here. We discussed the merger of Fairmont President’s Club into Le Club Accorhotels here.)
Swissôtel sent out an email this morning announcing a transition promo:
You will earn 1,000 bonus Le Club Accorhotels points if you stay twice at Swissôtel by 1 July 2018. Note that any previous stays in 2018, i.e. between 1 January and now, qualify, too.
Bottom line
Because 1 Le Club Accor point has a fixed monetary value of 2 eurocents, this promotion will effectively bag you a 20 Euro rebate on your two stays. To be sure, Swissôtels’ room rates tend to be pricey, so this might well appear laughable at first sight. But bear in mind that Le Club Accor’s main promotion only offers 500 bonus points for a first two-night stay irrespective of whether you choose a cheap Ibis or an expensive Sofitel (though admittedly the bonus on your 2nd and 3rd Accor stay is rather generous).
I certainly won’t shift any business to Swissôtel because of this promotion. But if you are planning to stay at a Swissôtel property anyway, you might as well bag the bonus…
