Recently, I advised readers about an upcoming devaluation from IHG Rewards Club. I suggest that you re-read that post. Most importantly, you should take a look at the list of hotels impacted by the reward pricing changes.

I mentioned in my original post that you should make speculative bookings NOW, since the change could take place at any time. But I also promised to update readers if any news or rumours came out regarding the actual effective date of the changes.

I have yet to see any official confirmation from IHG. But Boarding Area blogger Mommy Points appears to have been in touch with IHG Rewards Club, and has been told that these changes will be implemented on 16 January, 2018.

So, if you’ve been procrastinating at the prospect of booking one of these Intercontinental hotel gems, you have approximately a week left before they cost 70,000 points per night…
