While many of you may be a little tired of Amazon shopping, Amex have just extended a great offer for Membership Rewards-earning Amex cards, such as the Amex Gold or Platinum.
This is a great opportunity to make the deals in the Amazon January sales that bit sweeter.
If you part pay for your Amazon order using the Membership Rewards points in your Amex account and the Amex promo code AMEX16SWP before 31 March 2018, you’ll get £15 off an order of £25+.
Is paying with Membership Rewards on Amazon a good idea?
Ordinarily, I’d say no.
Given that one Amex Membership Reward point is worth 0.45 pence on Amazon, this isn’t the greatest way to use your points (I’d value Amex MR points at around a penny each).
However, to benefit from the £15 discount here, you simply need to use no more than 2 points. That’ll discount the order by 1 pence, but then also by £15 courtesy of the Amex promo code:
That’s basically £7.50 (and a half) pence per point in value, so this is a fantastic use of two Amex MR points!
The exact steps to receive the £15 discount are as follows:
1. Add £25 or more of eligible items sold and shipped by Amazon.co.uk to your shopping cart.
2. Enter the Amex promo code AMEX16SWP in the box provided on the checkout page and pay for at least a portion of your order with Membership Rewards points.
3. £15 of savings will be reflected on the final order checkout page.
What if you don’t currently possess an Amex Membership Rewards card?
Sign up for the Amex Gold or Platinum via this link and you’ll get a bonus 22,000 Membership Rewards points for the Amex Gold, or 35,000 for the Amex Platinum.
