Lufthansa has launched a double award miles promotion for Economy class flights on its A380 aircraft. Flights taken between 29 October 2017 and 31 January 2018 are eligible, and you will receive double award miles (but not double status points) in Lufthansa’s Miles & More frequent flyer scheme.

Let’s have a look at the t&c’s and small print:

• Only A380 flights to and from Frankfurt are eligible on the following routes: Bangkok, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Delhi, San Francisco, Shanghai and Singapore.
• You can earn the bonus on up to 8 segments.
• Your flight must be operated by Lufthansa, and you receive the bonus for the A380 legs only, but not for any connecting/ feeder flights.
• You must enter your Miles & More number at the time of booking to benefit from this offer.

Bottom line

It is a shame this offer is only valid for Economy class bookings really. I’m not sure many people will go out of their way and send their business to Lufthansa because of this offer. Lufthansa rarely run bonus miles promotions, so if you have an economy class A380 flight coming up anyway, you should register.
