We’ve written about the loyalty app ‘Virgin Red’ before on InsideFlyer, but it’s well worth keeping an eye on as new offers get added all the time. The latest offers are for 30% off travel on the Virgin East Coast or Virgin West Coast (Virgin Trains) routes.

All you need to do is download the Virgin Red app here, and then ‘verify’ your Virgin Red account with your Virgin East Coast/Virgin Trains accounts in order to see the offers. After that, just click on the offer you want and follow the step by step instructions.

Note that you can only use the codes once, so make sure to use them when they will save you the most. You can book using the East Coast offer until 30th April 2018, and the Virgin Trains (West Coast) offer is available until 30th June 2018.

The discounts can be used for First Class Advance Off Peak as well as Standard Advance Off Peak, so you could potentially save a significant amount of money. Unfortunately it isn’t possible to combine the offer with Railcards, so some readers will be better off just sticking with their Railcards.

I didn’t check out all the options, but was able to price up a ticket for 7 adults on the East Coast site and the discount applied to everyone – not just to one ticket.

Conclusion

The Virgin Red app has some good deals and offers from time to time and is certainly worth having a look at. 30% off rail fares is a substantial discount – particularly for those who aren’t eligible for a Family/Two Together/etc Railcard.
