TAP Portugal is currently offering some extremely good Economy fares between Italy and Brazil – starting at just ~£150 one way!
The flights aren’t the most convenient in the world (requiring a change in Lisbon and sometimes also Porto), but the prices are fantastic.
You can find the cheap fares starting in Venice, Milan or Rome for dates from January through to April 2018, with the best availability in March/April. Most of the flights are to Sao Paulo, but Recife is also an option.
The very best fares I could find were via Momondo, though Skyscanner etc pulled up pretty similar results too and can be easier to search with.
Brazil is great, but what about getting home?
No worries!
You can book flights there and back for ~£320 in total:
Is TAP Portugal Economy any good?
Not really, to be honest.
It’s fine though – you’ll get fed and there is seatback entertainment, so it’s not really much better or worse than most Economy products.
Conclusion
Getting to/from Italy is usually very cheap and easy from most parts of the UK and a night or two in Venice is never a bad thing!
~£150 is a tremendous price for Europe to Brazil, and I love the fact that you can book it as a one-way and still benefit from the cheap fares. Flying a cheap Economy cash fare one-way and using Points/Miles to fly Business or First Class the other way is a really good way to stretch your Miles.
Anyone tempted?

By law there are no fuel surcharges for ex-Brazil itineraries. So a one-way to Brazil with TAP and a direct return using your Avios (or some other form of mileage currency) is an excellent way to go…
