I got an email recently alerting me to the news that Emirates were holding a sale to mark the delivery of the airline’s 100th Airbus A380. The sale prices weren’t anything special to be honest, but one thing that did catch my eye was the option to take a good (admittedly virtual!) look round Emirates First Class using Google Street View.
Ok, it’s not quite the same as experiencing it in person – but if you’re trying to decide whether to blow a small fortune or not on some real tickets, it’s a very useful resource.
Actually, if you think that you might just be able to put up with the ‘bling’ for a few hours (I reckon you’d manage somehow!), for goodness sake save your cash and use JAL Mileage Bank Miles (SPG Starpoints transfer partner) to book instead.
What can you see?
You can (virtually) wander around the whole upper deck. Perhaps start with a quick peek at the iconic shower room:
before exploring the First Class ‘Suites’:
Clicking is thirsty work, so popping into the shared Business/First Class bar area sounds sensible:
If don’t have enough Miles to stretch to First Class, you’ll want to check out the Business Class cabin:
Bottom line
The wonderful thing about collecting air miles and hotel points is that they open up the chance to experience products like Emirates First Class for real, without spending vast sums of cash. Points and Miles aren’t an infinite resource though, so I’m sure most collectors are like me and try to research which airline’s premium cabin they really want to fly. This is a fun way to help with that and the Google Street View functionality is a lot better than some of the ‘virtual tours’ I’ve seen on the websites of other airlines.
Anybody more (or less!) likely to try and fly Emirates First Class after having a look around?
