We wrote about Norwegian’s new route between London Gatwick and Singapore a few weeks ago when the prices were ~£360 Return. That was ok, but if you’re looking for a cheap flight the good news is that you can now book for substantially less!

How to find the cheapest flights

The Norwegian website is a bit weird. It often prices the same flights differently depending on whether you go to the UK/Norway/USA/Singapore/etc version of the site – and that means with a bit of effort you can dig out a bargain!

Firstly, go to the UK version of the Norwegian site here and search for one-way flights from London to Singapore. You should see prices starting at £149.90:

Next, go to the Singapore version of the Norwegian site here and search for one-way flights from Singapore to London Gatwick. You should see plenty of availability for $199.90 Singapore Dollars:

$200 Singapore Dollars is currently (May 2017) worth about £111.

Book both tickets and you’ve got a Return flight to Singapore for just ~£261!!!

Availability looks decent all the way from October 2017 to the end of the current booking window in March 2018.

Can’t I just book a Return?

Of course – but it will cost more and there’s not really much point.

I priced up a Return on Norwegian’s Singapore site and it ended up being just shy of £280. Saving under £20 might not sound like a big deal, but in percentage terms it’s a pretty big difference – and it does only takes a few minutes more to book two one-ways.

Good deal?

When the route was first announced and the price was ~£360 I said that was pretty good, so ~£260 is great!

Even when you factor in £50 each way to select your seat, take hold luggage and have meals/drinks included, £360 total for Direct flights from the UK to Singapore is exceptionally good. For context, the only other Direct flights are on BA or Singapore Airlines and it’s rare to see fares under £500 with either.

Bottom line

I’m very keen to see more long-haul competition and look forward to seeing what Norwegian (and other low cost carriers) have lined up next.

Don’t forget you can currently win 2,500 Norwegian Reward CashPoints (worth £225!) in our exclusive competition – that’s almost enough to go to Singapore and back!
