American Airlines has got some great sale fares from Manchester to the USA at the moment – starting at just over £1,000 Return.
The cheapest flights are to Little Rock (Arkansas), but San Antonio (Texas) and Oklahoma City aren’t much more expensive.
Availability looks great from the end of June through towards the end of August:
These may not sound like the most obvious tourist destinations in America, but you can always buy a cheap domestic flight to wherever you really want to go using Miles or cash.
I’d also say that if you’ve already been to the more famous parts of the US, any of those 3 cities could potentially be quite fascinating, at least for a short visit.
I would recommend using google flights or ita matrix to find the dates you want.
Anything else?
The flights are via Chicago, so to Little Rock for example, you’d earn 10,946 Avios and 360 Tier Points in total, if you credited the flights to British Airways Executive Club. That’s not a bad haul, and you could probably engineer it into more of a ‘Tier Point run’ quite easily with a bit of flexibility.
Bottom line
For Business Class flights from the UK to America that’s a very decent fare, and includes at least most of the Summer Holidays too.

San Antonio would be my pick. You could visit “The Alamo” before making the 90 minute drive up to Austin.
