Back in August of last year, we flagged how you could earn an easy 500 free Tesco Clubcard points (worth 1200 Avios or 1250 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles).

That offer expired on 16 October 2016, but the good news is that it returned yesterday, and while all new users are entitled to the free Tesco Clubcard points, a number of existing users are too, even if you got a bonus before.

How to benefit

First, you need to download the mobile payment app, PayQwiq (available on both Android and iPhone) which lets you pay instantly in all Tesco stores (unlike back in August, when it was certain stores only) using your phone. As PayQwiq also stores your Clubcard details, you’ll automatically get Clubcard points, too.

The current bonus is an extra 50 Tesco Clubcard points for the first 10 times you use the app before Sunday 7 May 2017.

Who’s entitled to the bonus?

As noted above, this offer is not limited to just new users. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

• New users and people who’ve used the app less than 5 times are entitled to the bonus
• People who’ve used the app five times or more are only eligible for the bonus if they haven’t used the app since 19 December 2016.

Note that there is no minimum spend requirement when paying via the PayQwiq app, and the bonus Clubcard points will be added to your Clubcard account within three weeks of payment.
