Airbnb is now offering new users £30 for signing up through a referral link (it used to be £25). I get £15 credit too if you use my referral link and then make a booking (so many thanks if you do!) but feel free to leave your own links in the comments too.
Airbnb has accommodation options pretty much everywhere these days, and that flexibility / sheer scale can be very handy.
Hotels (and hotel loyalty programmes!) are great, but sometimes you need more space or are staying somewhere without any proper hotel options. If you’re travelling as a group, renting a house/apartment/boat/etc can be a lot of fun too and much cheaper than a bunch of different hotel rooms too.
£30 signup credit is decent incentive to give Airbnb a try, though note that your booking must total more than £55 in order to use the credit.
20% off Airbnb gift cards
If you happen to have a US billing address (or have a friend/family member who does), you can also pick up Airbnb gift cards at the moment with a 20% discount, from US gift card site GiftCardMall
The offer says it is available until 17th December, but if you are interested I would purchase ASAP as I imagine it might well get pulled before then.
20% off is a really good discount – the highest I can remember seeing anywhere for Airbnb. It’s just a shame that only people with US billing addresses can take advantage.
Bottom line
If you’re new to Airbnb, the current £30 signup bonus is a good reason to take a closer look. If you can take advantage of the 20% discount offer too, even better!

How about using an Amex card? Since they don’t do address verification (hence all the people putting Ukraine as their billing address on the BA Web site).
the site is still asking for us address and phone number so this is a limitation.
Balls! I’ve just tried to enter my gift card code that my USA friend purchased, and it rejected it. It says that I need a usa payment method and residence and advised that I can change my account details. I thought the obstacle was purchasing the gift card alone.
If I enter my American friends card details do you think that will work? Otherwise I’m lumbered with $250 gift card that I can’t use :-O
