We wrote a little earlier about the Etihad discounts currently available for both Economy and Business Class travel. Tom flagged a great Etihad Business Class deal from the UK to Bangkok (or New Delhi) for ~ £1250, but if you’re prepared to start your trip in Germany, you can add the beautiful Maldives to the list of good value destinations.
Discount Code
Until 12 November, book on the Etihad website here and use discount code STFECO for 30% off Economy flights, and discount code STFBUS for 30% off Business Class flights.
The Etihad discount code box is very obvious on the homepage flight booking option:
The 30% discount applies to travel between 15 January and 30 June 2017. One key point to note is that the discount code reduction applies only to the base fare, so your fees and taxes will not be reduced by 30%.
Etihad Business Class deal to the Maldives
The Maldives are close to the top of ‘dream holiday spots’ for a lot of people, and attract a huge amount of honeymooners and anniversary celebrators looking for a romantic break. Travelling in Business Class can add a little extra fizz to such trips and if the price is right, why not!
Using the discount code above, you can find some excellent prices from Germany (Munich, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin) to the capital of the Maldives, Male – starting at about £1,090 (1,238 Euros).
Availability looks pretty good too, with the cheap prices possible on most days of the week, most of the time.
As you can see, the discount code really does work – knocking about £315.00 of the total. Check out the prices for the same dates without the discount code below:
The flights would earn about 11,000 Etihad Guest Miles in total.
Is Etihad Business Class any good?
Yep!
I think it’s probably the Business Class that InsideFlyer UK contributors actually travel in most, due to the combination of a high quality product, good cash sales, and reasonable Miles redemption opportunities through both Etihad Guest and American AAdvantage.
Bottom line
Yes, you have to hop over to Germany first – but when I checked flights from London the price (including discount) was nearly £2,200, so you would be saving almost £1,000 each!
Even once you factor in flights to/from Germany and staying somewhere nice overnight, you’re looking at savings of £800+ per person easily.
Some of the resorts in the Maldives look absolutely stunning, and Etihad Business Class is a superb way to get there!

When Paying in euros, I think you get legged over by a fee usually 3% for paying with a UK based credit card.
Is the best payment option to remove or reduce this fee by still paying by Supercard or can anyone offer any other advise.
