Hotel booking website PointsHound has another compelling promotion, this time offering first time users 1,000 Bonus Virgin America Elevate Points.
It’s not quite as generous as the 3,000 Flying Blue Miles offer that is also still running but, given the relative value of Virgin America Elevate Points, it’s still a superb promotion in its own right.
To take advantage of the offer you need to book by 31st December 2016 for stays up until 31st March 2017.
As I’ve mentioned before, I really like these sort of offers because there is no minimum spend or stay requirement and PointsHound offers a much wider range of hotels, particularly at the budget end of the market, than competitors like RocketMiles. That means it’s possible to find perfectly reasonable hotels in cheap parts of the world (or out of season) for ~£20.00 and snag a decent chunk of Miles at the same time!
I won’t bore regular readers by rehashing all the things you can do with Virgin America Elevate Miles yet again – suffice to say, they’re amazing and easily worth ~ 2p each, so the 1,000 bonus Miles is worth about £20.00 to me.
Bottom Line
I think these offers from PointsHound at the moment are really good, but their marketing people are terrible. I discovered this offer tucked at the bottom of an email from Virgin America about their new app, which 9 times out of 10 I would have deleted without even looking at – I doubt I’m the only one.
