The excellent Eurostar has just launched a flash sale on return tickets to Paris, Brussels and Lille with all three destinations available at a fantastic £39 return.
This is of course the train we are talking about, so that’s £39 full stop. Not £39 plus taxes, fees, fuel surcharges, pension fund levy etc etc. The obvious downside, however, is that the price is valid for day returns only.
To benefit from this genuinely great value price, you need to book by 31 October, and travel by 31 December. You can bemoan the fact it’s a day return option only, but frankly in the run up to Christmas I’d argue this is a fantastic opportunity to see somewhere like Paris in all its winter glory, do a bit of Christmas shopping and then head home without having to pay for a hotel.
By way of fairly random example – and at the time of writing – you could get the 0752 to Paris on Saturday 12 November which arrives at 1117, then head back later that evening on the 1913, arriving at 2039. All for an amazing £39.
Remember, too, that we are talking about travel to the centrally located train stations – not airports that you need to get transport to, and arrive at hours before your departure. Convenience is definitely on your side here, and a day return on Eurostar can work very, very well.
Otherwise, and again at the time of writing, availability of the £39 return fare is good, but you’ll probably need to move fast, particularly for the weekend dates.
Frankly, I would get booking ASAP. I have!
