Choice Hotels, and its loyalty scheme ‘Choice Privileges’, doesn’t seem to get much attention in the travel/Points/Miles blogosphere – and that’s difficult to understand, because it’s seriously underrated.

For me, one of the main benefits of knowing about Points/Miles is the ability to earn lots of hotel Points at relatively cheap properties and then redeem them at luxury hotels or expensive locations that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.

Choice consistently has some of the cheapest properties out of the major chains (rates under £40.00 aren’t hard to find) and generous bonus Points offers – but crucially, it also offers the ability to redeem those Points at some incredibly luxurious and unique hotels.

Those three things are basically the holy trinity for Points/Miles hobbyists, and there is no shortage of blogs these days, so the fact Choice still seems a bit under the radar somehow is… confusing.

I’m going to be writing more about how to make the most of Choice Privileges Points in future, but for now onto the promotion!

Stay 2 Nights, Get 1 Free (sort of)

Choice has fairly consistently offered a variation of the same promotion for ages (must be years?). The latest incarnation is for stays until 11th November. 

The way it works is that after every second qualifying stay (one night stays are fine, but the nightly rate must be more than ~ £30.00 ($40.00 USD) to count as a qualifying stay!), you will be awarded a minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 8,000 bonus points (depending on how many base points were earned from your two stays) to ensure that you have at least 8,000 Points.

8,000 Points is enough for a night at quite a lot of Choice hotels – and some of the 8,000 Points ones are actually pretty good!

There are no limits to how many times you can earn the bonus while the promotion is running –“You can earn an unlimited number of bonuses! After you register, you’ll earn points for a free night after every two separate trips.”

Anything else?

Yep.

You can get 500 bonus Points on your first stay if you don’t already have a Choice Privileges account by signing up using a referral link (I get 500 Points if you stay too, thanks!).

You can also get an additional 500 Bonus Points for every stay that includes a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night.

Status matching is possible (but you do need to make sure the address you enter when you sign up is in the USA…)
