Until 21 September, Virgin Atlantic has reduced prices on a number of long-haul flights from London and Manchester to destinations worldwide including the US, Caribbean and India.
While prices are not spectacular (and they rarely are on ex-UK flights, not least compared to the staggering value you can often find when flying long-haul from mainland Europe), there are some solid deals in Premium Economy and to a lesser extent Business Class with prices starting at £609 (Premium Economy) and £1489 (Business Class).
Standout fares include the following:
Premium Economy, from London (return)
- Dubai £609
- Delhi £729
- Chicago £779
- Boston £799
- Antigua £789
- Barbados £789
Business Class, from London (return)
- Chicago £1489
- Delhi £1599
- Barbados £1679
- St Lucia £1679
- Boston £1709
There’s also a number of Economy Class fares, starting at £359 return.
For me, the Chicago, Barbados and St Lucia Business Class fares are tempting. Given a current glut of Avios, I probably won’t be booking them, but for a Business Class return you could do a lot worse. According to the terms and conditions, “Flying Club miles, bonus miles and tier points are available on selected flights. Please check at time of booking”. Clearly if you do earn miles on your particular flight, this would give you substantial further value.
