We have long sung the praises of the travel benefits of Tesco Clubcard. While there are various great value options, one of the stand-out bargains is the ability to convert £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers into 600 Avios points.

While bonuses continue to be occasionally offered on conversions to Virgin Flying Club miles, the Avios conversion bonuses seem to be a thing of the past (for now at least). However, there is a small incentive for converting your points between 1 August and 14 August. 

During this 14 day promotion period, every £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers you exchange will get you your standard 600 Avios, plus one entry into a prize draw for 18,000 Avios. There will be one draw every day, with 10 lots of 18,000 Avios up for grabs daily. That’s 140 lots of 18,000 Avios, so a grand total of 2.52m Avios up for grabs.

Full details will appear on this page on 1 August, but suffice to say if you’re planning to convert Tesco Clubcard points to Avios, it’s worth waiting a few days.

Personally, I’m a little tired of the lucrative yet remote promises of prize draws and would much rather Tesco and Avios returned to offering a good old reliable conversion bonus. Then again, I don’t play the lottery and generally frown at people who do (come on, have you seen those odds?). Ultimately, there’s a decent chunk of prizes available in these 14 days, so hopefully a reader or two will benefit.
