One of our very favourite airlines, Etihad, is currently running an “up to 50% off” sale on Business Class flights from the UK (London, Edinburgh and Manchester).
You need to book by 11 July for travel between 8 July and 30 September 2016. With Abu Dhabi/Dubai from £1175, India at £1300 and Bangkok from £1477 there are some very good, if not quite spectacular, deals in there.
The up to 50% discount means that the following Business Class return prices are available:
From London
- Abu Dhabi – £1175
- Al Ain £1175
- Dubai £1175
- Mumbai – £1329
- New Delhi – £1345
- Bangkok – £1503
- Kuala Lumpur £1646
From Manchester
- Muscat – £1226
- Abu Dhabi – £1270
- Al Ain – £ 1270
- Dubai – £1270
- Mumbai – £1304
- Bangkok – £1477
- Islamabad – £1480
- Phuket – £1669
- Singapore – £1721
- Shanghai – £1757
- Colombo – £1798
- Hong Kong – £1811
- Manila – £ 1811
- Perth – £2566
- Melbourne – £2571
- Brisbane – £2579
- Sydney – £2683
From Edinburgh
- Abu Dhabi – £1269
- Al Ain – £1269
- Dubai – £1269
- Mumbai – £1304
- New Delhi – £1320
- Bangkok – £1477
- Beijing – £1499
- Singapore – £1721
- Hong Kong – £1811
- Perth – £ 2566
- Melbourne – £2571
- Brisbane – £2579
- Sydney – £2683
As you can see, in some cases the emphasis appears to be heavily on the “up to” rather than the “50%”, but the Middle East, India and some of the Asia flights are heavily reduced.
While these are certainly not the sub-£1000 prices you can sometimes get with an ex-EU Qatar long haul Business Class flight, they are extremely solid value, and the ease of departing from London, Edinburgh or Manchester (as opposed to, say, Copenhagen!) should not be altogether overlooked.
Is Etihad Business Class any good?
Yes.
Adam says
Is it true you can only use ethiad points to upgrade non sale fares?
Tom Sumner says
It depends on the sale. The “Breaking Deals” fares (booking class T and E for the nerds) are not eligible for a points upgrade, but the “Saver” fares (booking class U and V) are.
Given that the 50% off fares here are “Breaking Deals”, they are not eligible for upgrade.
