As we have previously flagged, every Wednesday Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), releases the latest round of “SPG Hot Escapes” on their dedicated website.

These deals can be booked until the coming Saturday for hotel stays in the subsequent 6 weeks, with discounts that can go up to 50% depending on the destination and hotel.

If you’re not a member yet of the SPG loyalty programme, then I recommend you sign up (for free), as you will get an extra discount of 5% on all the prices featured on the SPG Hot Escapes website. You can register yourself as a new member through this link.

The SPG Hot Escapes are released every Wednesday

It’s looking good! Compared to previous weeks, there are substantially more hotels available in the promotion this week.

In fact, there were 125 hotels on Wednesday’s list:

  • Asia: 8 hotels
  • Europe: 15 hotels
  • Mexico: 1 hotel
  • North America: 93 hotels
  • Oceania: 6 hotels (of which 2 are in Australia)
  • South America: 1 hotel

Way more choice this week!

This week’s list is way more extensive

As you can see, this weeks list even features 5 hotels in the UK, of which some are even on the Featured Deals list for Europe.

As you can see above, there are 4 hotels from the UK in the promotion this week, of which the cheapest rate is GBP 65.

Note that you will earn Starpoints when booking one of the SPG Hot Escapes deals  – like you would with a regular booking through the SPG website. That said, dished out on a strict revenue basis, Starwood doesn’t reward you with many points for hotel stays, especially if you compare the number of points you receive with, for example, IHG.

However, the Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty programme does have an interesting conversion rate for transferring points from your SPG account to your favourite airline frequent flyer account. It’s possible to convert Starpoints at a 1:1 rate to air miles. You’ll also earn a 5,000 point bonus when you transfer 20,000 points.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to visit the InsideFlyer UK forum and ask – we’ll be glad to help you out.
