We have long sung the praises of using cashback sites to earn easy (and essentially “free”) money on your travel bookings. One of our particular favourites, Topcashback, for example, offers cashback on an enormous range of hotels and airlines.
One such Topcashback travel partner is Hilton hotels, where the current rate of cashback is 6.3%. Pretty good, I hear you say, and indeed it is. However, using a very simple trick, you can boost it to 9.45% or more.
So how do you do it?
First of all, to benefit from any cashback at all, you will need to be a member of Topcashback, which you can join for free, here.
To then benefit from the boosted Hilton cashback rate, do not go to Hilton via the ordinary link (or a search) on Topcashback, which will bring you to the ordinary cashback page:
Rather, you need to use this, dedicated “secret cashback offer” link, which will get you here:
The Hilton secret cashback offer comes and goes, and regularly varies in the amount offered (it is sometimes as high as 15%, and I’ve even seen it at 20%). Suffice it to say that if you’re booking a Hilton stay, it is well worth checking the Hilton secret cashback offer link to see what is currently available.
If you add the cashback you’ll earn here to the Hilton HHonors points you’ll also earn from a stay, and any sale rates available at the time of your booking, you really can discount the rate of your room substantially, both in hard cash and loyalty benefits.
Note that booking Hilton stays via Topcashback (or indeed any other cashback website that I am aware of) will not jeopardise the Hilton HHonors points or elite status benefits that you earn and benefit from on your stay. Indeed, the sale is essentially made directly with Hilton so you should have no concerns here. That contrasts sharply with the position if you book your stay through third party booking websites, such as Expedia and lastminute.com.

I wonder if this works if you book a Hilton room on cash and points? For example, 4000 points plus £23 at Hampton Liverpool Airport – about 10% cashback?
Tom Sumner says
I potentially stand corrected, but I am fairly sure you don’t earn cashback on points and money redemptions – only pure cash ones. The ts and cs say “Any payments made redeeming HHonors points will result in the transaction being ineligible for cashback” which is pretty conclusive.
Andrew H says
I meant 10% of £23, sorry.

Hilton no longer offers cashback on the UK site.
Tom Sumner says
Indeed it doesn’t. We covered this, with your alternative options, a couple of days ago.
