The excellent Etihad Airways have just launched a new mobile app, and to celebrate, they are offering 10% off all flights, plus 250 free Etihad Guest miles when you book using the app.
The 10% discount applies to bookings made before 30 May 2016, for travel in Business and Economy Class before 15 December 2016 (Blackout periods apply: 20 June to 20 July, 15 August to 15 September 2016). The free additional miles apply to bookings made by 30 May for travel until 30 September 2016.
Seasoned Etihad flyers won’t be too excited by the 10% discount: you can already get 10% off Etihad flights via their Manchester City link or as an Amex cardholder. However, it’s worth flagging – if nothing else as a reminder.
In terms of the actual app itself, Etihad list their “favourite features” of it as:
• Simple flight search function
• Credit card scanner for payments
• Scan your passport to check in
• Detailed aircraft seat maps
• Live flight tracker and updates
• Indoor maps of Abu Dhabi airport
Notably, the app is currently only available with Apple, although it is “coming soon” to Android.

It’s also worth flagging the fact that Etihad is currently running a global sale, ending on 28 April.
With long-haul Economy prices from little over £300, and long-haul Business Class at an impressive £1450 or so, it’s worth a look.

Can the 250 ethiad miles be converted into anything else worthwhile?
Well I’d argue that using Etihad Guest miles for Etihad redemptions is more than worthwhile. However, the only real alternative for Etihad Guest miles is using them at the Etihad Guest store (2 entries to the Man City v Arsenal ticket raffle seems to be your only option), or cashing them out with PointsPay.
