Marriott are having a ‘Flash Sale in the UK for the next few days. You need to book before 5pm on Monday (29 February), for stays up until 10 April.
The booking page says that it only applies to weekend stays, but that isn’t true – the sales rate seems to apply to weekdays too, at least at some hotels.
Rates start at £49 (£79 in London), which is ok, but not hugely impressive.
The trick is to combine the sale with other Marriott promotions and cashback.
I’ve explained before how to stack Marriott’s new member bonus with the current MegaBonus offer, to get two free night certificates (for category 1-5 hotels) after just two stays.
As regards cashback, Topcashback are offering 5% for Marriott members, but Quidco have a 9% offer for the next two days, so it might be a good time to sign up there if you haven’t already.
When you click through to Marriott from a cashback site it takes you to the normal Marriott homepage – not the Flash Sale page. To pull up the Flash Sale rates, all you need to do is put the code 4UK into the “Corporate/Promo Code” box.
Let’s look at an example to put it all together:
My parents enjoy the occasional ‘staycation’ at the Hollins Hall Marriott Hotel and Country Club, where the £49 rate is available almost every date I looked at.
One of them needs to sign up as a new member and then register for the MegaBonus offer too.
They then book two separate stays using the sale rate, clicking through from Quidco first.
Their stays would cost £98.00 (£49 x 2), and they would get £8.82 in cashback, so they would spend £89.18 in total.
For that £89.18, they would get two nice little one-night breaks between now and 10 April, and two Category 1-5 free night certificates.
They could use those certificates for two nights at Hollins Hall later in the year (it’s a Category 5 hotel), or maybe go for a weekend somewhere else instead. The Renaissance Vienna looks pretty good:
Regardless of where they choose to use the certificates, they get four nights at Marriott hotels for £89.18 – or £22.30 per night – not bad!
They would also earn about 1,350 Marriott Points or a few hundred frequent Flyer Miles from Marriott Rewards.
