We wrote about the BA sale yesterday. One key element to this was that BA (and its Oneworld partner American Airlines) was offering long-haul Business Class flights out of Dublin, well below the £1000 mark.
Oneworld rival network Star Alliance has responded to this, with Star Alliance members Swiss and United Airlines both also loading some fantastically priced long-haul Business Class flights out of Dublin onto their system, to compete with the BA/AA offerings.
It’s well worth a look at the Irish options on united.com and swiss.com, but taking Miami in April as an example, BA (via AA) was offering this flight at €1060 (£769):
Swiss is offering Business Class returns in April for €1147.60 (£835):
While with United it’s €1,107.83:
Clearly this is just the tip of the iceberg – there’s a vast number of alternatives available with all of BA/AA, Swiss and United but the key point is this – there are some genuine Business Class bargains to be had out of Dublin right now and if re-routing to Dublin doesn’t appeal , you can still get some very solid value out of London.
