IHG Rewards Club, the loyalty scheme of Intercontinental Hotels Group, is continuing its points bonus offer to members for the start of 2016, even keeping the same name! 

“Accelerate” works by offering you bonus IHG Rewards points for completing a number of stay-related challenges (stay in a certain month, 4 days in a row, use the app etc). The exact number of points earned for the various activities is tailored to each member, but you’ll get a hefty IHG points bonus for completing all the challenges. 

Anyway, you can now see your personalised offers. If you’re a new account, expect to need just a few nights’ stays to get enough points for a free night in an InterContinental hotel (or indeed nearly 2 weeks somewhere via the great value of Point Breaks!)

Conversely, if you stay with Intercontinental quite a bit, expect some considerably more onerous stay requirements for your bonus points.

While you can see your offers now, only paid stays (no points/cash-and-points stays) between 1 January and 30 April 2016 will count.

For stay-based offers, you can book now and those will count (provided you stay in the dates outlined above). For things like “Book with the app”, you’ll need to do the booking on or after the 1 January for it to register as a booking for Accelerate purposes.
