It’s Wednesday, so another round of Starwood Hotels’ SPG Hot Escapes is upon us.
The more seasoned traveller should be pretty familiar with the offering, but it is one of those great value deals that it’s very easy to forget about (rather like getting cashback with topcashback – the number of times I’ve booked a flight or hotel, only to remember I could have got cashback…)
If you haven’t heard of SPG Hot Escapes, they are a great way of getting a substantially discounted stay at a Starwood Hotel (up to around 50% off), and as the list of discounted hotels (and discounts) change on a weekly basis, there’s an ongoing supply of options.
The UK angle is twofold: there is often a handful of UK hotels on the list (the Sheraton Heathrow features regularly, for example), but the more obvious benefit to the UK traveller is to take advantage of the numerous global hotels for a foreign trip.
What is the booking window?
As noted above, the sale is released every Wednesday (at 11am), and you can book up until Saturday, for stays within the next 6 weeks.
Any additional tips?
Importantly, you get an additional 5% off the already reduced rate if you are a member of SPG, Starwood Hotels’ loyalty programme. Given that this is free to join, everyone can benefit instantly from the additional saving.
The full list of today’s currently discounted SPG Hot Escapes properties has (at the time of writing) just gone live and is available here. The UK properties are as follows:
It’s a user friendly website, so very easy to search for hotels globally:
Don’t forget that if you’re keen to get status with SPG to make your stay that much more VIP, we have full details of the SPG Platinum (and Gold) challenge here.

The other UK focused last minute Hotel promo I’d point people to is the Accor “Happy Mondays” one – book on a Monday or Tuesday for that weekend, from only £25. http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotels-offers/promotion-37481-promotion.shtml
