Craig recently wrote about why the major hotel loyalty programmes’ moves towards ‘dynamic award pricing’ might push guests to look at booking with sites like Hotels.com.

If you wanted an additional incentive, Hotels.com Rewards is currently offering double ‘stamps’ (on the first 5 days of a stay) as part of its Black Friday sale.

This means that you can earn a free night after just 5 nights, rather than the usual 10.

How does it work?

Not all properties are eligible for double stamps, but most (including many chain hotels) do seem to be.

The important thing to note is that you have to manually enter the code RWD2BF21 in the “Apply a coupon code” box on the right of the booking page:

Once that has been successfully applied, you should see the following message:

You need to make a new booking between 12:01 am on 23/11/2021 and 11:59 pm on 29/11/2021 on the United Kingdom version of Hotels.com® for your check-in date between 23/11/2021 and 30/04/2022.

The terms state that “Coupon limit per booking: 1 booking per property per Rewards account”, which suggests you might be able to use the code more than once (if booking different hotels), though I’m not sure if that’s really the case in practice.

Bottom line

If you need to book a hotel and are more interested in earning rewards than elite status perks, this is a decent offer. Always check the prices at other online travel agencies as well though to make sure you really are getting a good deal.

Terms

You may only use this coupon on properties that are eligible for Hotels.com® Rewards and are marked with a ‘Collect an extra stamp’ badge on the Hotels.com® website.

The coupon only applies to the first room in the booking.

Use this coupon to collect double stamps with Hotels.com® Rewards for the first 5 nights of your stay. You will receive one stamp for each of the remaining nights of your stay. E.g., if you stay 10 nights, you’ll collect 10 stamps, and we’ll add another 5 to your account (i.e., double stamps for the first 5 nights) – giving you a total of 15 for your stay. Remember, collect 10 stamps, get 1 reward night.

Your reward night may not be redeemed on bookings paid for at the property. While we usually add collected stamps to your account within 72 hours of your completed stay, it may occasionally take as long as 4 weeks for your second room booking and extra stamps to get posted to your account. A reward night does not include taxes and fees, and the value of these promotional stamps will not affect the average daily rate in determining the value of any reward night.
