If you’re looking for a cheap way to get across the Atlantic this autumn, Norse Atlantic Airways has some excellent fares from London Gatwick.

Prices start at just £228 return to Miami, with other US destinations also available:

  • Miami – from £228 return (September)
  • Orlando – from £242 return (September–November)
  • Los Angeles – from £248 return (September)
  • New York (JFK) – from £263 return (late October–November)

As you might expect, availability at the very lowest prices is quite limited, but there are plenty of options for not much more.

These lead-in prices are based on Norse Economy Light fares, which include:

  • 1x personal item (40 x 30 x 15cm)
  • 1x carry-on bag (10kg, 56 x 45 x 25cm)

Checked baggage, meals, and seat selection cost extra.

Another thing to consider with Norse is that their return flights are normally just priced up as the total of the two separate one-way flights. What that means is that you can sometimes find an absolute bargain in one direction and use points/miles the other way – which gives you a lot of flexibility.

For example, in September there are one-way fares from Los Angeles to London for as little as £88 (or £291 in Premium – also excellent value):

If you’ve only got enough Avios/miles to fly one way or can only find award space in one direction, Norse can be a very cost effective solution.

Bottom Line

Return fares from Gatwick to the USA for £228–£263 are excellent value, but remember to factor in a bit more if you want to order food/drinks etc – particularly on the longer flights.

Norse is in the middle of restructuring its route network, with the London-Miami route scheduled to be cut next year.
