British Airways has unveiled a flash offer allowing members to multiply their 2024 Avios earnings. The promotion runs through 3rd February 2025, giving members the opportunity to boost their balance by up to 400%.

How It Works

Members can choose from four multiplier options for their earned Avios. Here are the costs per Avios for the first 300,000 Avios:

• 100% boost: 0.96p per Avios
• 200% boost: 0.94p per Avios
• 300% boost: 0.92p per Avios
• 400% boost: 0.92p per Avios

Important: After exceeding 300,000 Avios, all multiplier options increase to 1.77p per Avios.

Best Value Option

The sweet spot is the 300% or 400% boost at 0.92p per Avios for amounts under 300,000 Avios. This represents the lowest price point in the offer, though you’ll need to consider whether the larger multiplier suits your needs.

Is It Worth It?

While this offer provides another avenue for building your Avios balance, the value proposition needs careful consideration. Remember that British Airways redemptions often include substantial taxes and fees, particularly for premium cabin bookings departing from the UK. That said, 0.92p is a decent price.

Bottom Line

Although this boost offers competitive rates compared to some recent promotions, including Qatar Airways’ current 60% Avios bonus, we’d generally recommend against purchasing Avios speculatively. The best value comes when you have a specific redemption in mind that would otherwise cost significantly more in cash.
